The Patriots' Run began as an idea that we needed an event to remember the tragic events of 9/11/01. Even more importantly we needed to thank and honor all those who served, not only on that day, but every day since then to assure that America does not have another 9/11. From that, the theme "To Thank and Honor Those Who Serve Our Country" was born and remains central to the event today.
What began as a commemorative community run has grown into a national event drawing runners from across America and other nations.
Lawn chairs are welcome! Spectators can bring family and friends, cheer for their favorite runner and listen to the music (there is ALWAYS music at the Patriots' Run). This is one of the few such events where they can watch the entire run.
The event record of 63 miles was set by Greg Buehler in 2009.
E-mail us at tonydrew@everestkc.net if you wish an entry sent to you that can be mailed.
Patriots' Run Afghanistan was a success in both Bagram AFB and Camp Eggers where we ran over 1000 proud members of our military.
